When I was a basic agnostic, I stopped voting because everyone I voted for killed people for no reasons. And the longer I have been on earth, it has never changed. It has only gotten worse, actually horrible, constant wars, killing, crime, hate for one another, with nearly 120,000,000 (in just the USA) new cases of horrible STD’s destroying human life at the molecular level.
Moral decay destroys health, and now we have hospitals the size of small cities just to treat childhood diseases that never existed even in the 1800’s. So, why would anyone “worship” that? Or honor that? Why would I ever honor a country with such horrible health and such anger as common among these common citizens now?
And I have lived in other countries and certainly did not dislike the common people there. I lived in India for 5 months in the late 1970’s. You will not find any better people there either. The common people are just living their lives and are nice.
I lived in the Netherlands for 3 years. Same there, politics and moral decay is also there. But the common people are nice, as a rule. At least when you meet them they are very cultured and welcoming.
So, am I to hate, the Indian people or the Nederlanders or the German neighbors to NL? What about France. I went there and found the same thing, people, living and most were nice to me. So, why would I take sides against them as well.
The concept of patriotism is that the country you live in is some “special” place on earth and you are to worship it and have pride in being a “XYZQWMNO” citizen?
Every aspect of being a Jehovah’s Witness fits with the reality of life on earth. We do not belong to any country, and are a worldwide brother/sisterhood of loving and kind, Christain, people. God is always right on every issue of life on earth.
We give to the country we live in; everything a citizen is to do. We are honorable citizens, obeying laws, owning businesses and even working government jobs (as long as they are not related to killing people), as long as we don’t have to go and kill other citizens from other countries.
So, every aspect of what God teaches, aligns already with what I felt from just being intelligent and not wanting to kill anyone. You cannot be a Christian if you go to war and kill other citizens for some political power and control issues your mentally ill politicians have. And as a well researched scientist, I can tell you that ALL people on earth are mentally ill. As one psychiatrist said; “We need to put antipsychotic drugs in the water supply.” She specifically liked “Prozac”.
It turns out that over 50% of adults in the USA are on Rx for mental problems, anxiety, depression are the most common. The rest are drinking almost 7 billion gallons of beer each year, a couple million gallons of wine, and about 1.2 million gallons of pure 100% equivalent hard liquor (in various percentages of alcohol). Along with many tons of crack, amphetamines, marijuana and opiates.
Most of the “idols” in Hollyweird and music are on some serious drugs and people are “worshipping” that?
What, exactly, is this worship of man-made divisions and hate for others? Where does this idea that a common “Chinese citizen” needs to be killed? or a “Russian” or a “German” over and “American”? Where does this crap come from? It is a form of indoctrination and brainwashing to think that one would ever consider going and killing other people for some political agenda. But people are still not figuring this out, they are fully indoctrinated in “My country” instead of My world of good people. NOT greedy politicians who send kids out to die for their mental illness need to control the world.
The country is not a person, nor is it a perfect entity, so why do people worship it?
When I was very young, right after the WWII, patriotism was “high”, and everybody was rah rah about America. There were almost no differences in the “feeling” about the country among the common people. Democrats did not hate Republicans. Now the division is so thick you can’t even talk about the weather without some political and very STUPID agenda filled with anger for the other’s opinion.
Now it is just the most messed up culture ever, just like all those great empires that disappeared, rotting out from the inside as it collapses on itself. All the historical types of events and political crap are the same as what took place in every dead, once “mighty” empire and are now “3rd world impoverished place on earth.”
The USA is dying, so is EU and UK and only some other countries are gaining in economics and wealth as the USA dies out from the moral rot and mental and physical diseases from the inside.
Try being an objective observer, for a change. I have been that way all of my life. Jehovah God’s way of living is the best life ever. We love all people and want them to come out of the darkness of this world of delusions fear and suffering.
